Bobby Brown Recalls Robbing A Racist Store Clerk At Gunpoint: I told him, ‘I’ll blow your motherf**kin’ head off!’
It should come as no surprise, back in the day, Bobby Brown was actually about that life. The former New Edition member demonstrates how out of control he was growing up, by telling a jaw-dropping story in his new memoir, “Every Little Step”. He recalls that when he was only 11 years old, he attempted to rob a racist store clerk.
The story goes, he was visiting family in Alabama when he was at a convenient store and heard the clerk refer to him as the N-word. He writes,
I lost it. I said, You know what? I’ll be right back, motherf**ker!
After that, he went back to his grandmother’s house, put on his dad’s army uniform and took his dad’s gun, too.
When I went back in the store, I pointed the gun at the clerk and said, ‘I’ll blow your motherf**kin’ head off!’ I was talking like a grown-a** man, holding this gun like I was Clint Eastwood or something.
He continued:
The dude looked pretty scared. I went through the store, grabbing things that I wanted. Then I left, with the rifle resting on my shoulder.
Bobby says, his father caught him and made him return the things he stole–after giving him a whooping. However, his dad gave a grave warning to the clerk before they left.
My father took me back to that store and made me give all the stuff back to the clerk. Then he turned his attention to the clerk, addressing the man by his name. ‘If you ever talk to my son like that again, I’ll kill you,’ he said.
Wow.
