YouTuber Ms. Rachel Reminds Critics Her Charity Work Isn’t For Show: ‘It’s Who I Am’
Ms. Rachel is opening up about her long history of giving back, making it clear that her charitable work started long before she became a household name.
In a Threads post, the children’s educator said that in her 20s, before she was famous, she volunteered with hospice, served as a “big sister” through Big Brothers Big Sisters, and helped serve breakfast to people experiencing homelessness.
“This work is not because I’m in the spotlight, it’s who I am — I just have a bigger platform now,” she wrote.
Ms. Rachel also shared a childhood memory that showed the same mindset. She said she once earned $80 after appearing in an advertisement as a child. When her mother asked what she wanted to do with the money, her answer was simple: “GIVE IT AWAY.”
The posts gave followers a personal look at the values she says have guided her for years.
