Lil Kim Talks Rich Homie Quan Mishap, Working With Dej Loaf & Relationship with Faith Evans [Audio]
On Monday night VH1 honored some of the dopest female emcee’s to ever live. That list includes Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, Missy Elliot and Brooklyn’s own Lil Kim. During her tribute she was joined on stage by Rich Homie Quan to perform Biggie’s “Get Money,” and as you know, the rapper failed at nailing the late artist’s lyrics. Calling into Sway in the Morning, Lil Kim opened up about the lyric mishap by her good friend Rich Homie Quan and also spoke on her relationship with Faith Evans.
Starting her transparent conversation with Sway talking about Faith’s introduction, Lil’ Kim says the moment was beautiful as she reveals they are quite close now. Going forward she mentions working on a song together and having a teary eyed conversation about Biggie.
Changing topics to Rich Homie Quan, Kim has a lot to say about what transpired over the days leading up to the show. Revealing that two very prominent male artists pulled out of the performance at the last minute she praises Rich Homie Quan’s dedication and eagerness to jump on a plane to honor her and Biggie. Although it was a “dagger to the heart” as she says, Kim boils things down to bad communication.
She tells Sway that she called, Rick Ross, Nas, Method Man and Fabolous, all of which had prior engagements. The revelation to ask Biggie’s son didn’t come until after the show was over and done with.
While on the line Lil Kim also speaks on recording new music.
She says that she’s been in the studio with Dej Loaf and a few others that will be revealed later.
