A$AP Rocky Explains Controversial Police Brutality Remarks: I feel terrible as a black man.
A$AP Rocky has taken his talents to The Breakfast Club, addressing a recent controversy that he was involved in. The rapper made headlines last week, after an old interview leaked of him making some questionable remarks about police brutality and blacks. Discussing Ferguson, he was quoted as telling Time Out New York:
So every time something happens because I’m black I gotta stand up? What the f*ck am I, Al Sharpton now? I’m A$AP Rocky. I did not sign up to be no political activist. I wanna talk about my motherfu*ckin’ lean, my best friend dying, the girls that come in and out of my life, the jiggy fashion that I wear, my new inspirations in drugs! I don’t wanna talk about no Ferguson and sh*t because I don’t live over there! I live in f*cking Soho and Beverly Hills. I can’t relate. I’m in the studio; I’m in the fashion studios; I’m in these b*tches’ drawers. I’m not doing anything outside of that. That’s my life.
ASAP explained his remarks to The Breakfast Club stating,
The whole interview was taken out of context.
He continued, ‘I feel terrible as a black man‘, about the situation. He adds,
People didn’t really dissect that interview.
When asked whether or not he listens to criticism about dating white women, he responds:
I don’t only just date white women. I date all women…I think interracial dating is dope. I don’t really care about color.
