Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs & Jay Z Land Forbes Highest Paid Hip Hop Artists, Nicki Minaj Only Female Artist On List
Forbes has just released their annual list of the highest-paid acts in the musical genre. For the second year in a row, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has the top spot, with $62 million in earnings over the past year. Behind the mogul is Jay Z, who raked in $53.5 million in 2016. Forbes notes that their various business ventures and endorsement deals contribute to their impressive earnings.
Diddy’s business outside of music includes deals with Ciroc vodka, Revolt network, clothing line Sean John and alkaline water Aquahydrate.
Jay Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company, D’Ussé cognac and Brignac champagne contribute to his coinage.
Outside of Diddy and Jigga, Dr. Dre is listed as making $41 million, Drake with $38.5 million and Wiz Khalifa with $24 million.
Nicki Minaj is the only female artist who made the list, earning the sixth spot with $20.5 million. Others on the list include rapper is Pitbull ($20 million), Pharrell Williams ($19.5 million), Kendrick Lamar ($18.5 million) and Birdman ($18 million).
Kanye West came in with $17.5 million earned over the past year.
