Rev. Run & Wife Star In Comedy Series
Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and Justine Simmons have snagged a new show, outside of the reality TV arena. According to a new report, the couple have landed an untitled ABC family comedy.
The scripted show, which is fictional, will center around a legendary rapper whose plans for slowing down are thwarted when his wife decides to pursue her own dreams and stardom.
Jeremy Bronson and Jhoni Marchinko will executive produce the comedy with Rev Run Simmons & Justine Simmons, Michael Lehman of Simmons Lehman Productions and Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television.
Rev. Run is one of the founding members of the influential hip hop group Run–D.M.C. He is also a practicing minister, known as Reverend Run. He found new popularity in 2005 with his family’s MTV reality show Run’s House.
Simmons has three children with his first wife: Vanessa Simmons, Angela Simmons, and Joseph “Jojo” Simmons Jr. He married Justine in 1994. With her, he had three more children: Daniel “Diggy” Simmons III, Russell “Russy” Simmons II, and Miley.
