Regina King Nabs ‘Seven Seconds’
Regina King has been tapped to star in Netflix’s Seven Seconds. The 10-episode series is about the tensions between black residents and white police officers and the aftermath when a young black male is shot in Jersey City. Check out the character description:
She will play Latrice Butler, a devout churchgoer and proud wife and mother. After she and her family move out of the projects and become first-time homeowners, Latrice is shaken to her core when she learns that her 15-year-old son, Brenton, has been involved in an incident. Suddenly aware that there’s more to Brenton than she and her husband were aware of, Latrice is rocked by the power of her anger at her son’s predicament, an anger that will change her life, her relationship with her husband and more.
King is also starring in the upcoming seasons of ABC’s American Crime and HBO’s The Leftovers. She has also sat in the directors chair by directing episodes of Being Mary Jane, Greenleaf, Scandal and The Catch. No premiere date has been announced.
