Teddy Pendergrass Documentary In the Works
A Teddy Pendergrass documentary is in the works. According to a report, Storyvault Films, Tempo Productions and Wasted Talent will produce the doc, which will examine the life of the singer who became paralyzed in a car accident at the age of 31. The film is being directed by filmmaker Olivia Lichtenstein.
Pendergrass is being produced by Lichtenstein via her TV production company Storyvault Films in association with Tempo Productions’ Piers Tempest and Wasted Talent’s Ian Flooks. Joe Oppenheimer, BBC Films’ acting head, is exec producing alongside Pendergrass’ former manager Shep Gordon, Daniel Markus and Allan Strahl. Production on Pendergrass is due to start in April.
