“America’s Got Talent” Blindsided By Nick Cannon Quitting Show
“America’s Got Talent” To Nick Cannon: You can’t quit.
Nick Cannon may have a difficult time quitting “America’s Got Talent”. As previously reported, the TV host, comedian and artist took to social media recently, explaining that he was leaving NBC. Cannon revealed that the network had taken offense to a joke that he made about them during his comedy special. In short, Cannon said that they had revoked his “black card” and expected his comedic material to be palatable to white audiences. He wrote:
I wish ‘AGT’ and NBC the best in its upcoming season but I can not see myself returning.
According to sources, the network said that they were completely blind-sided by Cannon’s announcement.
Reportedly, if Nick actually has plans to leave, he will have an extremely difficult time. Contractually, there are restrictions prohibiting his sudden departure and he will have to take legal matters if he wants to leave. Nick has hosted “America’s Got Talent” since season four (2009). NBC has yet to release a statement about the situation.
