Snoop Dogg Set To Host ‘The Joker’s Wild’ Reboot
Snoop Dogg is stepping out of the kitchen with Martha Stewart and into the nearest casino. Continuing on with their reboot spree, TBS has enlisted the rapper as the new host of the classic game show, The Joker’s Wild. Originally making its debut in 1972 and going into syndication in the 1980’s the show was made popular by its Las Vegas casino inspired set. Accompanying the list of TBS shows set to make a comeback like Match Game, The Gong Show and Love Connection, the network intends to keep the show’s original purpose while adding a bit of Snoop’s flare.
In a recent statement, Snoop Dogg said,
I’m a huge fan of games shows and The Joker’s Wild was my favorite show growing up. It always matched the flavor and personality of Snoop Dogg. Me and the Snoopadelic team are excited to bring back the show and put my own personal touch on it.
Much like the original show, contestants will answer questions based on categories seen on a large slot machine. This time the slot machine will be set in Snoop’s very own casino. Inside of the highly structured scene will be large game dice and playing cards. The new features will be used in games to answer entertaining trivia and problem-solving questions.
Snoop Dogg isn’t the only emcee set to host a revival – in April, MTV announced that the early 2000’s spine-tingling game show Fear Factor would return with new host Ludacris. The Joker’s Wild is set to air later this year.
