Jeremih Reaches Settlement w/ Model & Photog
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Jeremih has reached a settlement with the model who accused him of illegally profiting off her face, with the singer signing a confidential deal to bring the case to an end.
Here’s the latest: On May 15th, the model & photographer filed docs in the 2-year-long legal battle explaining they have reached a resolution of all claims with Jeremih and his label.
They expect the settlement to be finalized within 30 days, and per their deal the entire case will be dismissed.
Here’s the backstory: Back in 2015, photographer, Alexander Flemming, along with model, Louise Rams, sued the singer, along with Def Jam and Universal Music.
The photographer explained that he owns and copyrighted a photograph of model Louise Rams, featuring her with her blonde hair in front of her face and her holding up her finger to her mouth.
Flemming said that Jeremih stole his work and used it for the cover of his hit sing “Don’t Tell Em” along with various other marketing and advertising materials, including the singers social media accounts.
He said to make matters worse, Jeremih even removed his watermark from the photo when he used it for his album cover. The photographer sued the singer and his labels for the illegal use of his photo featuring Louise Rams claiming they exploited his work without his permission for profit. The model demanded damages for the unauthorized use of her image to hawk his album. At the time, Jeremih responded denying wrongdoing and demanded the suit be dismissed.
