EXCLUSIVE: T.I. No Longer Facing Lawsuit Over Skipping High School Graduation Performance
T.I. No Longer Facing Lawsuit Over Skipping Graduation Performance
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, a $390k lawsuit that T.I. recently faced, over missing a high school graduation, has been dropped and all claims against him have been thrown out.
Here’s the latest: On July 18th, Planet Productions headed to court and filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice of the entire lawsuit. They explain they are throwing out all claims against T.I., Rich Homie Quan and their agents. Each side will pay their own court costs and the suit can not be refiled at a later date, meaning the case has officially been closed. It’s unclear from the documents if a confidential settlement was reached between the parties.
Here’s the backstory: Last year, Planet Productions sued T.I., Rich Homie Quan & United Talent Agency. The company explained they hired the T.I. to perform at a high school graduation party in Florida. They were nervous about booking him due to a then-recent shooting at a New York concert, but his agency assured them there would be no issues.
They entered into a deal for T.I. to perform at the graduation, which they spent $10k a day in advertising leading up to the show to promote and sell tickets. However, a few days later the rapper’s team called and said he would not be showing up.
Planet Productions sued for the alleged $300k+ they spent on marketing and licensing costs + the $90k paid to book T.I.
