John Singleton’s ‘Snowfall’ Renewed For Season Two

Snowfall is returning for a second season! This week, FX announced that John Singleton’s drama series would return, airing in 2018.
The show is currently averaging 5 million total viewers per episode across all linear and non-linear platforms, according to a report. The series debut ranks in the top five in most key demos among all new cable drama premieres in 2017 on a Live+7 basis: adults 18-49 (#4), adults 18-34 (#4) and adults 25-54 (#5). The premiere ranks number eight among new cable drama premieres in total viewers.
Set in 1983 Los Angeles, the series revolves around the first crack epidemic and its impact on the culture of the city. The series follows the stories of several characters whose lives are doomed to intersect: 19-year-old drug dealer Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), Mexican luchador Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris Mencheta), CIA operative Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), and Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios), the daughter of a Mexican crime boss.
The series was created by Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron. Singleton, Amadio, Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Michael London and Trevor Engelson executive produce. Andron serves as showrunner.
Snowfall airs Wednesday nights on FX.
