Chance The Rapper Sued
Chance the Rapper is being forced to lawyer up! The 24-year-old Chicago bred rapper has reportedly been sued for copyright infringement. In the suit, jazz musician, composer, and lawyer Abdul Wali Muhammad claims that without receiving permission, Chance sampled his song “Bridge Through Time”. He claims that Chance used his music on “Windows” from his debut 2012 mixtape 10 Day. Although 10 Day is not a retail release, the suit alleges that Chance “has received profits from the marketing, promotion and sale of merchandise, performances, tickets to concerts and other performances as a result of” his use of the sample on “Windows.” Muhammad is seeking damages for the alleged infringement.
