“Coming To America” Sequel Underway
A “Coming To America” Sequel is underway! Jonathan Levine, who directed Warm Bodies, will reportedly direct the sequel. Kenya Barris, who is known for creating the hit series Black-ish, will rewrite the script. Although there is no deal in place, Eddie Murphy, who played Prince Akeem in the original film, is expected to star. Murphy is also involved in the development of the sequel.
Coming to America is a 1988 American romantic comedy film directed by John Landis, and based on a story originally created by Murphy, who also starred in the lead role. The film also co-stars Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley and John Amos. The film was released in the United States on June 29, 1988. Eddie Murphy plays Akeem Joffer, the crown prince of the fictional African nation of Zamunda, who comes to the United States in the hopes of finding a woman he can marry.
No additional details about the sequel have been released.

I’m here for it! But I don’t expect it to be as nearly as good as the first one.
I don’t get why you would touch such a classic as this one. Hollywood is running out of original movies to make so they’re subjecting themselves to remaking old movies and messing them up! I can’t see this being better than the first one either!
I’m on the fence. To me Coming to America is such a classic that it stands alone..no extras needed. But I’m curious to see what the creators come up with
