‘Boo 2! A Madea Halloween’ Makes $760k on Thursday Night
Business is booming for Tyler Perry! According to reports, the director, producer and actor’s horror-comedy sequel “Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” has earned $760,000 on Thursday night at 2,000 North American locations. It’s speculated that the film should dominate a moderate weekend in the US, with at least $20 million at 2,388 locations. The result will be down about 30% from the year-ago returns of the original “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” which opened with $855,000 in Thursday night previews on its way to winning the weekend with $28.5 million and finishing with $73 million domestically.
The film is written, produced, directed by and starring Tyler Perry. It is the tenth film in the Madea series, the sequel to “Boo! A Madea Halloween” and the third Madea film (after “Madea’s Witness Protection” and “Boo!”) not adapted from the stage play. The film was released on October 20, 2017 by Lionsgate.
