Well known casting director, Leah Butler, who also happens to be Lee Daniels sister, has brutal, but honest advice for aspiring actors. Inspired by Tami Roman’s Bonnet Chronicles series, Butler posted a video hilariously criticizing actors who think they can take a short cut with preparing for their craft. She says,

I was inspired to talk to these young actors today. Honey, Imma need young actors today to understand just because you make a video online, YouTube, Instagram or whatever is for what 48 seconds, 59 seconds don’t make you an actor.

She continues,

Get you some motherf*cking training okay like…Do I watch the sh*t? Yeah it’s funny, but for 59 seconds. Can you hold my attention longer than that? Like on a television show or on a series or something like that? All I’m saying is [making] videos doesn’t make you an actor, get you some training.
