Michael B. Jordan Promises To Keep Upcoming Projects Diverse
Michael B. Jordan will be adopting inclusion riders, which will require studios to hire a diverse crew and/or cast on a particular project. His announcement was made a few days after Oscar-winning actress Frances McDormand suggested during her Academy Awards speech that Hollywood should begin to use inclusion riders to help with diversity in the entertainment industry. Jordan shared the news on social media writing,
In support of the women & men who are leading this fight, I will be adopting the Inclusion Rider for all projects produced by my company Outlier Society. I’ve been privileged to work with powerful woman & persons of color throughout my career & it’s Outlier’s mission to continue to create for talented individuals going forward. The actor’s company has a multiyear first-look deal with Skydance Media. They’re currently working on a Netflix series called Raising Dion; a series for OWN; and a reboot of The Thomas Crown Affair. No additional details about his plans to use the Inclusion Rider have been shared.
