NBA’s Sterling Brown – Footage Released Of Cops Using Taser, Player Threatens Lawsuit
Milwaukee’s police are apologizing for the January 18, 2018 arrest of NBA player Sterling Brown. Chief Alfonso Morales said at a news conference
The department conducted an investigation into the incident which revealed members acted inappropriately and those members were recently disciplined. I am sorry this incident escalated to this level.
Police claimed the Buck’s rookie became confrontational over an alleged parking violation, prompting the officers to tase and arrest him. Body camera footage was released four months after the incident told another story.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said of the arrest,
This type of behavior has no place in our city. No citizen should be treated this way.
Barrett continued,
Even though Brown was parked where he should not have been parked, the fact that it escalated to what happened is what disturbed me the most!
Brown was not charged with a crime as a result of the incident, which prompted an internal affairs investigation. The NBA player feels
This was an attempt at police intimidation, followed by the unlawful use of physical force.
The Milwaukee Bucks called the actions of police shameful and inexcusable and said Brown has the team’s full support.
Earlier this week Sterling Brown’s attorney announced plans to file a civil lawsuit against the Milwaukee Police Department. Sterling also released a statement also noting he plans to take legal action.
