EXCLUSIVE: Blac Chyna Accuses Paparazzi of Harassing Her in Legal Battle
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, Blac Chyna (real name Angela Renee White) is responding to a lawsuit by a photo agency suing her for posting an image of herself on her social media.
Photo agency Backgrid is suing Chyna, claiming she interrupted their revenue-making business model when she
commandeered photographs of herself and posed them to her social media accounts, thus distributing them to her millions of followers.
They say that the photos were initially legitimately purchased by some outlets. However, they say that
By the next day, Chyna ruined their licensing value , essentially giving it to consumers of entertainment news about her. They accuse her of copyright infringement, vicarious and/or contributory copyright infringement and alteration of copyright management information.
Chyna has responded stating that her fans send her photos of herself to post on social media and she had no reason to believe that the photo that she posted was from anyone other than friends or fans. In her response, she also accuses Backgrid photographers of harassing her. The docs state,
Although paparazzi follow Defendant to the extent that they physically harass her— in particular, photographers from plaintiff Backgrid USA—Defendant has no reason to believe that the pictures she receives from her friends or fans could in any way belong to Plaintiff.
She wants to the entire case dismissed.
