EXCLUSIVE: Migos In Talks To Settle Clothing Line Lawsuit
The members of Migos are in talks to settle the lawsuit accusing them of screwing over a clothing company by backing out of a deal to promote the line.
Migos is a hip hop trio from Lawrenceville, Georgia, founded in May 2008. The trio is composed of three rappers, known by their stage names Takeoff, Quavo and Offset.
Earlier this year, Migos was sued by a clothing company Yung Rich Nation (aka YRN). The company claimed Migos screwed them over on a planned clothing line deal.
YRN says it had an exclusive deal to promote a line of clothing with Migos. The group’s debut album was “Yung Rich Nation” and they were supposed to promote the clothes by wearing it in a minimum of 6 music videos a year, 4 photo shoots and a minimum of 6 store appearances.
The company says Migos screwed them by entering into a separate deal with Universal Music Group to start selling Migos merchandise apparel. The suit accused Migos of also trying to shut down the entire company. YRN sued for unspecified damages.
Recently, docs were filed in the case explaining the parties have begun tentative settlement discussions and wish for an extension of the case deadlines, so they can have additional time to try and settle the case out of court.
