Beyonce Was Allegedly Vogue’s 2nd Choice After Meghan Markle
With any icon as beloved as Beyoncé, rumors and whispers immediately follow. Queen Bey recently revealed her historic September cover of Vogue magazine, shot by the first Black photographer in its 126-year history.
But new rumors are circulating that Beyoncé wasn’t the first choice of Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.
Reportedly, the newest member of the Royal family – Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle – was the most wanted choice for the cover. A source told Straight Shuter’s Naughty or Nice Podcast:
Bey had no idea that she was the second choice for the issue.
Meghan Markle is highly sought after due to the fact that she has yet to give an interview, cover a magazine, or even pose for a solo photo shoot as the official Mrs. Prince Harry. Sources also spilled that Cosmopolitan and Vanity Fair have offered her their covers, but the publications are too risqué according to the Royal rules.
Would Beyoncé have accepted the coveted September cover of Vogue magazine having known it was offered to Meghan Markle first?
