Doja Cat Admits To Using Term F*gg*t: I’ve Said It 15,000 Times In My Life & It Doesn’t Mean I Hate Gay People
How quickly things change! Singer/rapper Doja Cat was on top of the world due to her viral cow-themed song, “Mooo!” However, that fanfare has come to a screeching halt. The social media police have done their job digging for old problematic content and found that Doja had a previous affinity for the f-word (faggot). Fans, homosexual and heterosexual alike, called her out on those old, now-deleted tweets. The 21-year-old up and coming artist responded to the backlash in a shocking, nonchalant way. She tweeted:
“I called a couple people f*ggots when I was in high school in 2015 does this mean I don’t deserve support? I’ve said f*ggot roughly like 15 thousand times in my life. Does saying f*ggot mean you hate gay people? Do I hate gay people? I don’t think I hate gay people. Gay is okay.”
She has since deleted the majority of her tweets, including that one, and issued an apology on Twitter.
“I truly apologize to anyone I have offended or deeply hurt with my words. I used those hateful and derogatory words out of ignorance and didn’t intend to discriminate against anyone for their race, religion or sexual orientation. I understand how serious this is and know that I have let a lot of my fans and supporters down. I promise to do better for myself and each and every one of you.”

In the Trump-era where racism and discrimination is rampant, people are becoming a lot more intolerant of insensitive words, and holding their celebrity faves accountable for using them. Khloe Kardashian was called out for using the R-word (retarded) on an Instagram live video, which sent social media into an uproar. She, too, tweeted an apology. It read:
“Ugh I hate that word! Why did I even say that? You are a million percent right and I actually greatly dislike when people use that word! I will do better! I am sorry! much love today”
Do you forgive Doja Cat?
