The Rock Spotted Filming Fast & Furious Spin-Off
Filming has officially began for Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Fast & Furious spin-off movie, Hobbs And Show. Today, Hollywood’s top earning actor shared the news on social media. Posting a photo of his producing partner and the director of the film he writes,
DAY 1 and we’ve officially begun.. The long awaited Fast & Furious spin-off movie, #HobbsAndShaw is electric. My partner in heavy crime & fun @jasonstatham is lookin’ like $1million bucks and holdin’ it all down.
Our visionary & bad ass director @davidmleitch (just directed Deadpool2) at the helm and ready to evolve the franchise in exciting and fresh new ways.

The spin-off, centered around two characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, is set to be released August 2, 2019. The initial announcement of the spin-off provoked a response on Instagram by Tyrese Gibson, criticizing Johnson for causing the ninth Fast & Furious film to be delayed for another year.
The singer later apologized, stating blaming his medication.
Idris Elba has been cast to play the villain in the film. No additional casting details have been shared.
