Courtney Kemp Preps “Power” Spin-offs, Snags New Lionsgate Deal

Courtney Kemp Preps “Power” Spin-offs Thanks To New Lionsgate Deal
Back in May, theJasmineBRAND broke the story that a potential “Power” spin-off was in the works and news this week confirmed these reports.
Courtney A. Kemp, the creator and showrunner of Power, has just inked a new deal with Lionsgate that could potentially be bringing a number of Power spin-offs.
Lionsgate is the parent company of Starz. Kemp has signed a multiyear overall deal with the studio to develop multiple series for them, including “projects inspired by the world of” Power. Kemp has also brought on former executive Chris Selak as president of her company, End of Episode as well as promoted development executive Danielle De Jesus to Senior Vice President.
In a statement, Kemp said,
‘m incredibly proud of the success we’ve had with Power, and I’m excited about expanding our banner and diversifying the types of stories we’re telling. Chris brings with her a depth of experience that will elevate End of Episode to a new level, and I’m looking forward to exploring new ways of writing about my obsession: the intersections of violence, power, sex and romance.
Congrats to Courtney!
