Houston Rapper Paul Wall Gets Into Car Accident W/ Drunk Driver

Houston legend Paul Wall and his son endured a car accident in Austin, TX on Saturday (Nov. 24). The Chopped & Screwed rapper vented about his experience within an Instagram post the following day (Nov. 25). According to Paul, he had a show at the Nutty Brown’s in Austin – about a 4 hour drive from Houston – and he was bringing his 12-year-old son William Slayton, along for the first time without Paul’s wife and William’s mother, Crystal Wall.

The sprinter which they were traveling in was being occupied by Paul, his son, and entourage, which included six people in total. As they arrived at Nutty Brown’s, a white truck came speeding at them and wrecked the left side of the sprinter, where Paul was sitting. The driver of the white truck is reported to have been a drunk older white male wearing a Marines hat.

Following the accident, Paul still performed – considering he has never cancelled or missed a show before. After being checked out by paramedics and discovering William was fine, they refused to go to a hospital. The 37-year-old posted a photo from the accident and explained it’s context with a lengthy caption,

Before we left the house my son and I prayed like we always do. We prayed that God would protect us while we are out, that our travels would be safe, and that our family and home would be protected while we are gone. I called @cryswallbaby_bamf and told her Will was coming and she was excited too.

Adding,

Right as we pulled into the concert venue @nuttybrownamphitheatre I looked out the window and see a white truck coming right toward us. He had just came through the stop light there. He had 2 hands on the wheel, and he was buckling down as he was speeding up to hit us. Although there was an empty lane to his left, he sped up and came right in my direction (middle row passenger where he made impact). Both vehicles are completely totaled. We all had to climb out of the back of the sprinter because it had spunt around and bent in all the metal, broken glass. My son was sitting directly behind me with his seat belt on  (back row passenger). The fact that we were all able to walk away in tact is a miracle. I just wanted to share it with u in case u needed a reminder that God answers prayers.

Paul and members of his entourage suffered minor injuries including scrapes and minor bleeding, and were checked out once they returned to Houston.
