50 Cent is slowly building the anticipation around the upcoming prequel to his Starz series, “Power.” The entertainment mogul has been sharing images on Instagram of the upcoming series which is suspected to tell the story of The Golden Era (1980s) of New York.
50 shared a throwback image of what is suspected to be a man named Big Owen and Young Kanan to Instagram on Friday (Jan. 4). On “Power,” which stars Omari Hardwick, 50’s character was called Kanan, but was killed off in season five. He captioned the photo,

The prequel is expected to be a part of 50’s estimated $150 million four-year deal with Starz, which was labeled as the biggest deal premium cable history. It’s not clear if this the series which is suspected to star Larenz Tate, who plays Councilman Tate on “Power,” or if this is a different series within his four year contract.
