Bill Cosby’s Family Hasn’t Visited Him In Prison, He “Doesn’t Want Them In That Environment”
It’s been four months since iconic actor/producer Bill Cosby was placed behind bars for convictions of past sexual assault. Naturally, many would expect that Cosby’s family would be visiting him regularly, but that’s definitely not the case. According to reports, Cosby’s family has not been to visit — at Cosby’s request.
81-year-old Bill Cosby has recently been moved to general population and is said to be getting along quite well with his fellow inmates, he also has selected inmates who help him get around due to the TV legend being legally blind.
Andrew Wyatt, a spokesman for Cosby stated that Cosby doesn’t want nor expect his wife Camille Cosby or their four daughters to visit him in prison, which is about 20 miles from the family estate in the Philadelphia suburbs. Wyatt said:
“[Bill Cosby] He doesn’t want to have them in that environment. Why put them in that position, to make it turn into some form of a circus?”
Although she only made brief appearances during his trial, Cosby‘s wife of more than 50 years did, however, file an ethics complaint against the trial judge last year, accusing him of bias in the case.
She is also continuing to strategize about her husband’s case on his behalf behind the scenes. Cosby currently occupies a single cell in a two-story unit at the newly built SCI-Phoenix in Montgomery County. He resides in a special unit reserved for veterans and was previously being held in a private cell/day room near the prison’s infirmary.

Furthermore, Cosby is still committed to his case being apart of a conspiracy of sorts against him, dating back to his decades as a political activist. Cosby believes he is a “political prisoner,” targeted for his social and political views much like heroes Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela, Wyatt said.
Wyatt also revealed what Cosby believes the courts want him to admit to:
“He said, ‘They want to entrap me to say I’m remorseful, or to say I did something I didn’t do.’ I’m not going to fall for it.”
