R. Kelly’s Team Accused Of Throwing Illegal Party At Studio, Stealing News Vehicle’s Keys

Singer R. Kelly is adding fuel to the fire of allegations of holding women against their will. These allegations were brought to light in the Lifetime documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly,” where details also emerged about a Chicago warehouse studio being misused by him and his team.

Just last week, R. Kelly’s legal team appeared at a court hearing about this studio. A judge previously ruled that his studio broke several mandatory building codes, and would be shut down unless he used the studio within standard business hours, and removed all personal items – such as the beds, and closets-full of clothing. R. Kelly said this in his affidavit:

“I have never been creative or worked between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. [I am] most creative between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m…[This rule has] impacted my music and my ability to make any money. This inability to use my studio has not affected the landlord’s expectation that rent must be paid…I seek the ability to be able to work again.”

Things have quickly taken a dramatic turn. Jonathan Carlos – chief investigative reporter at Atlanta’s CBS affiliate – revealed that while covering this story last night (2/10/2019), R. Kelly threw an illegal party in the Chicago studio. When his team discovered news media on the scene, they allegedly hijacked the CBS vehicle. Jonathan tweeted:

“Breaking: @cbs46 investigative team confronted who we believe to be R. Kelly as he was whisked out of his Chicago recording studio late Sunday night. At the same time, the driver of an SUV leaving the studio jumped in our vehicle and stole our keys, knowing we were media.”

He continued:

“We will file a comprehensive report of what went on at the studio Sunday night tomorrow on @cbs46”

R. Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, apparently, doesn’t believe his client nor his team were in connection to the incident with CBS. He tweeted:

“So someone gets their key fob (which should’ve been in their pocket) stolen and they blame #rkelly. Next thing you know they’re going to blame him for the coming government shut down.”
