Cleveland Browns Signing Kareem Hunt, Despite Video Of Him Assaulting Woman

Cleveland Browns Announced Signing of Kareem Hunt, Despite Video of RB Assaulting Women
On Monday, NFL running back, Kareem Hunt was awarded a second chance with playing professionally as Hunt and the Cleveland Browns have agreed to a 1-year deal. According to reports, Hunt’s new deal could be worth more than $1 million, not factoring in the suspension.

In early November, Hunt, 23, was cut from the Kansas City Chiefs last season after a horrific video surfaced from February 2018, involving the NFL Pro Bowler assaulting a woman during an altercation in a hotel hallway.
In the video, Hunt is seen in a Cleveland hotel during a verbal and physical altercation with a woman. Hunt was so upset, he even kicked the woman while she sat on the hotel floor. During the altercation, the woman allegedly called Hunt the N-word which sparked his anger.
Kansas City immediately cut the running back after the video and release a statement on the altercation,
Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt. At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately.”
Since his release in November, Hunt has meet with NFL investigators and has completed anger management counseling. Although, reports state that he will face a suspension for his actions for the night in question.

Hunt also released a statement after signing with the Browns:
First off, I would like to once again apologize for my actions last year. What I did was wrong and inexcusable. That is not the man I was raised to be, and I’ve learned a great deal from that experience and certainly should have been more truthful about it after the fact. I’m extremely grateful that John Dorsey, Dee and Jimmy Haslam and the Cleveland Browns organization are granting me the opportunity to earn their trust and represent their organization in the best way possible on and off the field.
He continues,
I am committed to following the necessary steps to learn and to be a better and healthier person from this situation. I also understand the expectations that the Browns have clearly laid out and that I have to earn my way back to the NFL. I’m a work in progress as a person, but I’m committed to taking advantage of the support systems that I have in place to become the best and healthier version of myself.
