21 Savage Turns Himself In On Felony Warrant
Atlanta rapper 21 Savage is back behind bars as the ‘A lot’ rapper turned himself into a Liberty County Jail Friday morning. 21 (real name Sayaa Joseph), flew into Mid-Coast Regional Airport along with his attorneys on theft by deception charges.

The 26-year-old Grammy nominated rapper was booked for a concert in 2016 by a promoter who paid $17k for a perform for their nightclub. When 21 failed to follow through with his performance, the promoter filed paperwork to have a warrant issued for the rappers arrest, according to reports. Lt. Chris Reed commented on Savage’s arrest stating:
“During the time Mr. Joseph was arrested by ICE, the citizen wanted to make sure the warrant was still active and Mr. Joseph was picked up. During that time he learned he had the warrant here in Liberty County, his attorneys contacted the sheriff’s office and made arrangements for him to surrender himself after he was released from ICE.”
A Liberty County Sheriff, Steve Sikes, mentioned 21 wants to clean up his image, stating:
“He is trying to clean up his past as much as he can and rapper Jay-Z has been trying to help him. The warrant is from some years ago and he went through the process and addressed the issue.”
As previously reported, 21 made his first interview following his arrest by ICE officials with ABC this week and spoke about his deportation arrest. The rapper describes how he thinks he was targeted by the officers.
“I was just driving. And I just seen guns and blue lights. And, then, I was in the back of a car. And I was gone. They just said, ‘We got Savage.’ It was definitely targeted. There was helicopters.”
