Kevin Durant Shares Photo From Hospital Bed: Surgery Was Today & It Was A Success! 

During Game 5 of the NBA finals, Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant suffered a shocking and devastating injury that took him out of the game—and the remainder of the season. Now, just days later after suffering an Achilles injury, Durant is giving fans an update on how he’s doing.

Golden State Warriors fans were absolutely heartbroken seeing Kevin Durant being carried off the court during Game 5 of the NBA Finals after reinjuring his Achilles. The Warriors still managed to beat the Toronto Raptors by one point to guarantee a Game 6 at home, but fans were still hurt to lose such a strong player in the middle of the championship.

Although Durant’s championships dreams are over for this year, he recently provided fans with an update on his health via Instagram—and also confirmed that he did indeed rupture his Achilles, which many suspected as soon as he went down during Game 5.

Durant’s Instagram post read:

“What’s good everybody I wanted to update you all: I did rupture my Achilles. Surgery was today and it was a success, EASY MONEY

My road back starts now! I got my family and my loved ones by my side and we truly appreciate all the messages and support people have sent our way.

Like I said Monday, I’m hurting deeply, but I’m OK. Basketball is my biggest love and I wanted to be out there that night because that’s what I do. I wanted to help my teammates on our quest for the three peat.

Its just the way things go in this game and I’m proud that I gave it all I physically could, and I’m proud my brothers got the W. It’s going to be a journey but I’m built for this. I’m a hooper I know my brothers can get this Game 6, and I will be cheering with dub nation while they do it.”

The Golden State Warriors will face the Toronto Raptors once again on June 13^th. The Raptors are currently ahead in the NBA Finals, but if the Warriors win Game 6 the series will be tied, forcing a Game 7.
