While its creator, Shonda Rhimes still has shows on ABC like “Grey’s Anatomy,” and its spinoff “Station 19,” the news of How To Get Away With Murder’s ending was announced just a day after it was revealed Shondaland will have a new series on Netflix. That show is slated to premiere in 2020. It’s just one of eight new projects that Rhimes will bring to Netflix as part of her new deal with the streaming company.

Shonda Rhimes

This is the first time in more than 10 years that Rhimes’ is not debuting a show on ABC.

Meanwhile, viewers were left on the edge of their seats with the fifth season finale of How to Get Away With Murder.

It might be safe to say the show will end on a high note as it averaged 2.5 million viewers in its fifth season, with a 0.67 in the 18-49 demographic. It’s been going strong since it debuted on September 2014.

The sixth season premieres on September 26.
