Drake and Big Freedia Sued, Accused of Stealing “In My Feelings/Nice For What” Beats by New Orleans Bounce Producer
New Orleans bounce music producer Samuel “Sam Skully” Nicholas III is in his feelings over two hit songs by rapper Drake! Sam Skully is going after both Drake and bounce superstar Big Freedia claiming that his tracks were stolen and used for sampling in both “In My Feelings” and “Nice For What.”
The producer says “Roll Call,” his track from the year 2000, was sampled in the Big Freedia-featured single, and he never received a dime for his intellectual property. Sam Skully says that he heard the songs along with the rest of the public, with no notification that his beat was used.
Samuel “Sam Skully” Nicholas III is also in the process of suing all involvement record labels for damages – Cash Money Records, Republic Records, and Asylum Records.
Neither Drake nor Big Freedia have commented on the lawsuit.
