Kevin Hart May Sue Over Car Accident, Driver & Backseat Passenger Have Also Hired Lawyers
Kevin Hart is reportedly gearing up to take legal action after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda was involved in a car accident. Hart, who was in the passenger seat, and two others in the car suffered injuries.

Hart was just released from the hospital this week after he underwent back surgery and reportedly has months of physical therapy ahead of him. The driver of the car, Hart’s friend Jared Black, suffered serious back and chest injuries, and Black’s fiance, Rebecca Broxterman, who was in the back seat was treated for minor injuries. And all three have hired lawyers, according to reports.

It was previously reported that the car was considered a death trap on wheels. It lacked necessary safety features like safety harnesses and airbags. The vehicle had 720 horsepower but didn’t have a five-point harness or roll cage, which is unusual for a car of that standard.
While it was said that Hart was possibly negligent when he allegedly skipped the safety measures to keep the authenticity of the car, the blame is also being pointed out at the company who customized the vehicle, SpeedKore. One argument has said that if Hart did request that the car not have certain safety harnesses, the company should not have taken on the job.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol could back a new law that would require companies that customize cars to include safety harnesses, even if the customer doesn’t want them.
