John Witherspoon — Comedian’s Son Shares Sentimental Message: I Keep Having Dreams About You
Hollywood and fans are still reeling from the loss of actor and comedian John Witherspoon.
And his son, JD Witherspoon, is grieving as he revealed he has been having dreams about “The Wayans Brothers” star.
JD Witherspoon took to Instagram Wednesday (Dec. 18) to share a vintage snapshot of him and his father from when he was a little boy. He explained the caption that he is still coping with the passing of his father as he has several dreams about him.
“I keep having dreams about you Dad. In my dreams you come back to life, but I’m the only one who knows that you’ve already left us. It’s like that scene in the movie inception where they can’t tell if they’re in a dream or in the real world.”
He added,
“It’s really trippy man… Also once I finally wake up, it’s more of a nightmare than a dream since I know at that point you’re not still here with us. I at least get to have full conversations with you in these dreams that are really nice, we chat about life, and what I’ve been up to which I really enjoy. So yeah Dad I guess your spirit is trying to keep me company, thanks for that. Love you…”

John Witherspoon died at his Sherman Oaks, Calif. home on Oct. 29. His cause of death is reportedly a heart attack. He was 77-years-old.
His son, who has followed in his comedic footsteps, has been honoring him on social media.
He wrote on the 1-month anniversary of his passing,
“It’s officially been one month since you’ve left us…I still have trouble believing it on days where my brain tricks me into thinking you’re still around. Honestly it only feels like it’s been 24 hours since it happened, and I keep replaying that day back in my head even when I don’t want to. The world just feels a whole lot quieter without you in it dad, and we are all still having a lot of trouble just getting comfortable living our lives. Yesterday was probably one of the hardest moments since there were so many people at the house. I don’t know why, but it just felt like you were around us hiding in plain sight. I broke down a little bit after I couldn’t find you in your usual spots in the house, and then I let reality set in. I know things will get easier as time goes on, but for now the days have no name, and I’m only able to focus on my own life so much. Thank you for everything you’ve given us dad, we all greatly appreciate it. Love you man, miss you”
Let’s continue to pray for John Witherspoon’s family, loved ones and fans during their difficult time.
