Colin Kaepernick & Girlfriend Nessa Diab Seemingly Call Out Beyonce & Jay Z For Sitting During National Anthem: I Thought We Were Past Kneeling

Power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce – are undoubtedly one of the industry favorites. However, former NFL star Colin Kaepernick and his girlfriend – Hot 97 personality Nessa Diab – have a bone to pick with the Carters. Beyonce may have presented Colin with the Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali award in 2017, but the two parties have had tension since Jay-Z’s exclusive partnership with the NFL was announced.

Nessa even directly blames Jay-Z for the NFL’s blacklisting of Colin Kaepernick. Last year, the MTV host name-checked Hov:

“It’s typical for the NFL to buy different PR looks to cover up their dirt-that’s nothing new. But what is disgusting and disappointing is Jay-Z let them use him. Whether Jay-Z knew it or not (I don’t doubt his intelligence-so I would think he knew) he helped the NFL bury who he said is an iconic figure, Colin Kaepernick. Don’t tell me there’s a “master plan and wait for it” because the ONLY reason anything would ever change is because THE PEOPLE are loud and clear and won’t let the league buy their loyalty with their disingenuous moves. The people are letting the league and anyone who works with them know that they aren’t buying the bs.”

Now, Colin and Nessa seem to be calling out the Carters for attending this year’s Super Bowl, and sitting during the National Anthem.

They likened it to Colin’s now-famous protests in 2016. They both reposted this headline with the caption:

“I thought we were “past kneeling” tho?”

Their kneeling comments appear to refer to Jay-Z’s comments during his NFL partnership announcement.
