Nelly Teases Relaunch Of His Apple Bottoms Brand
Rapper Nelly took to his Instagram over the weekend (March 7th), alluding to a possible relaunching of his iconic Apple Bottoms brand. In his post , the St. Louis rapper hinted at a comeback when he shared an image of the brand’s signature logo.

Nelly originally launched Apple Bottoms back in 2003 as a denim brand, but it went on to expand to clothing, accessories, and perfume. As his Apple Bottom Brand continued to expand, Nelly even conducted a model search to represent the brand as part an episode of VH1’s Inside Out titled “Nelly: The Search for Miss Applebottom.”
Nelly started his music career in the Midwest hip hop group St. Lunatics, in 1993. Just shortly after signing a major label deal, Nelly entered the spotlight with the release of ‘Country Grammar,’ in 2000, spending seven weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and spawning the hits “Ride Wit Me,” and “E.I.”
Apple Bottoms were referenced in numerous songs, including one of the brand’s most familiar bars in Flo Rida and T-Pain’s ‘Low.’ T-Pain, who sings the chorus, talks about a ‘shawty’ in “Applebottom jeans, boots with the fur”.
However, he then goes to say that she is seemingly also wearing “baggy sweatpants” and “Rebooks with the straps”. Over the years, fans have questioned T-Pain’s lyrics about the woman in the Apple Bottom jeans and in 2018, the singer finally gave an explanation. T-Pain responded that his hook was in about fact two different women:
“The first girl is dressed how Flo Rider likes. Second girls is dressed like how I like. Flo likes a classy lady. I like a lazy b*tch.”

Apple Bottom jeans, as the name suggests, are generally designed for all curvy women with full hips.
