Jim Jones Pleads Guilty Again

Harlem hip-hop artist and actor Jim Jones found himself in some legal trouble earlier this year. In March, he was pulled over for driving his 2011 Bentley into a bus lane on Broadway near Prince street in New York. The search revealed that he was driving with a suspended license. His lawyer Marianne Bertuna defended Jones by saying that he wasn’t aware that his license was suspended over a ticket he hadn’t fully paid. She also added that,
“If it was as simple as paying a fine, he would have. He just didn’t know about it.”
Last week, Jones plead guilty to the traffic misdemeanor and paid a $200 fine and a $80 court fee. This is not the first time the “We Fly High” and “Pop Champagne” has had problems with the New York justice system. In October 2009, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge for punching one of R&B star Ne-Yo’s friend at a Louis Vuitton store. Also, in February some Houston girls sued him after their topless streak in South Beach ended up in his video for “Summer Time.”
