Meek Mill: I Dropped Out Of School In 10th Grade! I Never Believed In The American System
Rapper Meek Mill reflected on education with his fans on Twitter, revealing that he dropped out of school in 10th grade. Meek Mill (real name Robert Rihmeek Williams) claimed that the American school system didn’t really fit his life as a young African-American teen living in poverty. The 33-year-old Philly rapper posted the following on Twitter,
“I’ve never believed in the AMERICAN system … I dropped out of school in the 10th grade and made millions at 22! The way they broke things down to me didn’t really fit my life as a black kid from poverty so I took the risk of chasing my own dreams not the American dream!”

Meek Mill continued,
“Not saying you shouldn’t go to school … because if anything that was slowing me down it was lack of education! When I got caught in the system I knew I was behind and had to educate myself!”

As of recently, Meek has been very vocal about his own encounters with law enforcement amid the murder of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, at the hands of a white Minnesota police officer.
Meek shared a photo of himself on Instagram of what seems to be his battered face with bandages on. He captioned the photo,
“Mom my took this pic and filed it with internal affairs, nothing happened! I been a rebel since!!! #georgefloyd I got charges for breaking one of the cops hands also like he didn’t break his hand on my face!”
