Kerry Washington Wins Her Very 1st Emmy!
Kerry Washington, 43, has just won her first Emmy Award!
The actress was honored for her work at the 2020 Creative Arts Emmys, in the category of Outstanding Variety Special (Live on Tuesday (Sept. 15th). She was recognized for “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family” and Good Times”, where she served as an executive producer.
It was previously reported that Kerry Washington was teaming up with ABC for the remake of more classics after the success of the All In The Family-The Jefferson’s live comedy special.
The idea for the specials was created and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and the series featured all-star actors as they recreated live sitcom episodes that originally aired in the 1970s.
After the “Little Fires Everywhere” star won the award she took to her Instagram announcing her excitement:
“OMG, so proud of @simpsonstreet and this incredible cast and crew.”

Kerry Washington’s production company, Simpson Street, which she launched in 2016, received 10 Emmy nominations this year. She was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Limited Series Or Movie category for her character, Mia Warren, in Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere.
She took to her Instagram to express her gratitude for getting nominations for all of her current projects.
