John David Washington: The Best Actor in The Industry Is My Father, Denzel Washington
Actor John David Washington might have been adamant about making a name for himself in Hollywood without his famous dad, Denzel Washington’s help. But there’s no mistake that he believes his father is the best to ever do it.
He said of his father during an interview:
“I think the best actor in the industry, in the business, is my father. I’m inspired by the kind of career he’s had and what he’s had to do. Again, he’s been on the frontline for many years and what he’s done with it, with his opportunities, I just am so inspired and continue to be inspired by what he does and how he works and his approach to the craft and the business.”
He also saluted his mother, Pauletta Washington, and said she:
“gives me inspiration…That’s my mother, the most consistent person in my life.”
He certainly got closer to his parents as he moved back in with them while being quarantined during COVID-19. He told Samuel L. Jackson, who was guest co-hosting on Jimmy Kimmel Live!:
“I was in my old room. There was a chore or two. My chore was to make sure I’m down for dinner in time.”
