LeBron James Covers Iconic Wheaties Cereal Box Along With Students & Staff Of His ‘I Promise’ School
LeBron James seems to be on a winning streak these days. Not only has he led the Los Angeles Lakers to yet another “W” in the NBA 2020 Finals against Miami Heat, but General Mills announced that the talented athlete will be the next face to cover the iconic cereal box. The famous orange box has led the way in a long list of iconic athletes to grace its cover including Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, and Serena Williams, to name a few.
This time though, LeBron James will be joined students and staff of his I Promise school that was started in 2018 to help at-risk kids in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. The smiling faces and social interaction photos that wrap around the orange box are a duplicate of the photo that’s taken over the landing page of the Wheaties website.
In announcing the news, LeBron James stated:
“The movement we’ve started in Akron is about doing our part to uplift our community by first listening and then responding with the resources they need. We will continue to do everything we can to create a better future for our kids and our community, and it starts with the students, teachers and everyday champions you see on this box.”
LeBron will be replacing Serena Williams on the cover. She took to her Instagram to congratulate and welcome him into “good company.”

Our kids?! LeBron?! The @wheatiescereal box cover?! What an honor and inspriation it is for our scholars to see themselves on the iconic Wheaties box alongside their hero, leader, and true champion of change.

Congrats, LeBron James and I Promise school!
