Justin Bieber Says “Don’t Change The Subject” As He Continues To Support Black Lives Matter: You Can’t Deny That Racism Is Ingrained In Our Culture
Singer Justin Bieber has taken to his social media once again to speak his mind on the #BlackLivesMatter movement with a post shared on his official Instagram feed. He said:
Saying black lives matter doesn’t mean that other lives don’t matter. You can’t deny that racism is ingrained in our culture.
He continued his message and seemed to call out those who don’t necessarily agree with the movement and encouraged them to not redirect the focus:
It is straight up mean to change the subject to something you believe matters equally or more. Why can’t black lives simply just matter. Don’t change the subject.

This isn’t the “Lonely” singer’s first time taking a stand for the #BlackLivesMatter movement. This summer, Justin Bieber took to his Instagram and declared that he would always use his platform to bring awareness to the movement. In one post, he said the following in the wake of the police-involved deaths of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd:
I will never stop fighting for my brothers and sisters. BLACK LIVES MATTER

Justin Bieber also admitted to being influenced by the culture of African-Americans and posted a message on Instagram indicating that because of his being “influenced” by black culture, he vowed he would always be an ally to African-Americans through his voice:
I am inspired by black culture. I have benefited off of black culture. My style, how I sing, dance, perform, and my fashion have all been influenced and inspired by black culture. I am committed to using my platform from this day forward to learn, to speak up about racial injustice and systemic oppression, and to identify ways to be a part of much needed change.
