Nelly & Shantel Jackson Are ‘Working Toward’ Engagement, Rapper Says She’s ‘The One’

Are wedding bells on the horizon for rapper Nelly and his longtime girlfriend Shantel Jackson? That looks like a real possibility after Nelly gushed about his lady on this week’s episode of “Dancing With The Stars.” Nelly dedicated his Argentine tango dance with professional dance partner Daniella Karagach to Shantel Jackson.

In a video montage on “Dancing With The Stars,” Nelly spoke very highly of his girlfriend and also mentioned the song that he and Daniella Karagach danced to–“Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd–is actually one of their favorite songs.

The “All In My Head” artist told ET that his girlfriend is “great” and “really dope:”

“We have a great time, and we understand each other.”

He added in the DWTS package:

“I would not want my life to not have Shantel in it. We’ve been seeing each other for five or six years. Any time you can connect with somebody like that, it works out for the long run. She’s sweet, beautiful, and the more we got to know each other, she’s just as beautiful inside.”

Nelly did not absolutely confirm that he was going to pop the question to Shantel Jackson, but he did confirm to his dance partner Daniella Karagach that he believed Shantel was ‘the one’ when she asked him about it during the interview. Nelly also told ET that they were “working towards” being engaged. He said that both he and Shantel have a great deal in common and he loves her drive:

“She grew up in the inner city, she knows what it’s like to go through certain things in life when you grow up in the inner city. She’s very driven, very passionate about the things she does and she doesn’t accept anything but wanting to be better. And that’s what I love. That’s exactly what I love.”
