NBA’s Steph Curry & Under Armour Launch A Brand To Better Compete With Nike’s Jordan
NBA’s Steph Curry continues his business relationship with Under Armour. The 32-year-old Warrior’s star is a long-time Under Armour athlete and this week, the duo announced the launch of the Curry Brand.
According to reports, the goal of the partnership is to reach younger consumers and compete with Nike and its Jordan Brand.
The new line features shoes and clothes for a number of sports and will eventually expand to more categories including running and women’s. Under Armour Chief Executive Patrik Frisk states,
“We wanted to make sure we did this as close as possible to the NBA season finally launching … and the fact that we’re launching in between Black Friday and the holidays we think is very opportune. This also gives Stephen something to really engage in … he’ll be actively involved in the development of the product. And we’re so excited to see one of our athletes being so involved in the product.”
Reportedly, Nike has maintained its No. 1 spot as the favorite apparel brand among teens for a decade and is also still No. 1 in footwear.
What are your thoughts about this latest collaboration and can they compete with Nike’s Jordan brand? Let us know in the comments.
