NBA YoungBoy Under Federal Investigation Amid Drug & Weapons Charges
Federal officials are reportedly investigating rapper NBA YoungBoy (real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden) months after he was arrested for drugs and weapons charges.
He and 15 others were taken into custody after filming a music video in Baton Rouge in September 2020. Now, federal agents are looking into the case as NBA YoungBoy, who’s a convicted felon, isn’t allowed to be in possession of a firearm.
While he’s no longer in custody after being released on a $75,000 bond, his lawyer, James Manasseh, recently asked for him to be released from his bond supervision.
The attorney said in a statement:
“The Office of the District Attorney has returned Mr. Gaulden’s seized property and there is no indication that the State intends to file a Bill of Information against Mr. Gaulden.”
For now, NBA YoungBoy, who just welcomed a son with Floyd Mayweather’s daughter Iyanna Mayweather, lives out of state.

While Manasseh insists that NBA YoungBoy didn’t do anything illegal, District Attorney Hillar Moore said the request for release is still under review in his office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Still, a judge did order for his items that were seized during the arrest to be returned, including more than $40,000 in cash, a $300,000 cashier’s check, two diamond necklaces, and a diamond ring.
