T.I. Not Returning For ‘Ant-Man 3’ Amid Sexual Assault Allegations
T.I. will not be appearing in Ant-Man 3 as the rapper and actor faces ongoing sexual assault accusations.
It hasn’t been confirmed that the decision is because of the allegations against him and his wife, Tiny Harris.
T.I. starred in 2015’s Ant-Man, and Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018.
The third installment is still in development and doesn’t have a release date, so it’s unclear which characters will be included in the script, and if T.I.’s character will be recast.
The news comes after production for his and Tiny Harris’s reality show T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle was suspended amid the allegations.
A spokesperson for MTV Entertainment told Deadline:
“We are aware of the allegations, and while they are not connected to our show, we have reached out to T.I. and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials. Given the serious nature of the allegations, we have decided to suspend production in order to gather more information.”
T.I. and Tiny were blasted for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting dozens of women. The allegations from women poured in after Tiny Harris’s former friend Sabrina Petersen accused T.I. of holding a gun to her head.
Attorney Tyrone A. Blackburn said he received stories from 30 “women, survivors, and witnesses” as he called for an investigation against the couple Monday, March 1. He added that he currently has 11 clients who accuse T.I. & Tiny “of forced drugging, kidnapping, rape, and intimidation in at least two states.” The accusations go back at least 15 years.
T.I. and Tiny’s lawyer Steve Sadow said in a statement:
“Clifford (T.I.) and Tameka Harris deny in the strongest possible terms these unsubstantiated and baseless allegations. We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming. The Harrises implore everyone not to be taken in by these obvious attempts to manipulate the press and misuse the justice system.”
