French Montana Denies Deb Antney’s Claims That Gucci Mane Once Stole $5K From Him: Me & Gucci Is Good
French Montana has responded to Deb Antney’s claims that fellow rapper Gucci Mane stole $5K from him. In February of this year Waka Flocka’s mother, well-known entertainment manager Deb Antney, spilled some alleged tea about Gucci Mane while on Drink Champs and claimed that the Atlanta-based rapper once charged French Montana $5k for a verse but then skipped out on the feature after he was paid. She said,
“French didn’t really make it that well in Georgia. Gucci didn’t like French. Because the first time he went into the studio to do a song with him, he paid Gucci $5,000 to get on a feature. And he was just sitting in the studio and Gucci was gone out the backdoor. Gucci just took the money and left.”
She continued and claimed that she ultimately came to the rescue and paid French Montana back from her own pockets.
“I just gave French the $5,000.”
However, according to French Montana, that isn’t true. During a recent interview with 99 Jamz Miami, French Montana was asked about the alleged studio incident and he said that it never happened.
“I never did a verse with Gucci where he took my money and never did the verse, you know. I think it was like 12 years ago. He did do the verse, the song was called straight cash remix. We had put it out. I don’t know where people got that story from.”
He continued,
“Me and Gucci is good. [We] never had a problem.”
He added,
“People just be trying to drag you into negative energy. That’s why I don’t like replying. There’s something said about me every day.”
