LeVar Burton Reacts To Reports He Was Not Selected As Permanent ‘Jeopardy!’ Host: No Matter The Outcome, I’ve Won
LeVar Burton’s campaign to become the permanent host of Jeopardy! fell short, and while some fans are livid about it, he has delivered a class-act response.
As previously reported, the long-running game show was searching for a new host after Alex Trebek sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer.

LeVar Burton openly shared his hopes to replace the legendary host and even served as a guest host for the final week of the 37th season. Still, reports circulated earlier this week that the new host would be the show’s current executive producer Mike Richards.

LeVar Burton tweeted amid the reports,
“I have said many times over these past weeks that no matter the outcome, I’ve won. The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and fans alike has been incredible! If love is the ultimate blessing and I believe that it is, I am truly blessed beyond measure.”

He also trended on Twitter Friday morning (Aug. 6) as fans expressed their disappointment that he didn’t land the gig.
